			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>There are all kinds of diet plans out there that claim to hold the secret to weight loss.  Regardless of the details of these plans, none of them are likely to get you to your goal weight on their own.  You may be able to lose weight at first, but eventually you&#8217;ll hit a barrier that you just are not able to break through.  That&#8217;s the problem with diet alone.  It can&#8217;t keep the weight coming off and keep it off.  What you need to do if you&#8217;re really serious about losing belly fat is to find a way to pair your diet with an exercise program.</p>
<p>This might sound scary if you don&#8217;t consider yourself athletic, but not to  worry.  “Exercise” comes in a wide variety of forms.  There are lots of options and only a few rules.  Particularly if you&#8217;re not doing anything active on a regular basis right now, anything is good.  Go for a 30 minute walk every day.  Jump on a stationary bike or an elliptical machine.  Do a circuit of the weight machines at the gym.</p>
<p><strong>Something is Better than Nothing<br />

Plus, doing a little bit of exercise makes it seem less scary.  In fact, exercise can feel good – or at least make you feel good once you&#8217;ve caught your breath.  It&#8217;s also a great way to get all of the systems in your body working better.  Physical exertion stimulates a lot of chemical responses in your body that can help you lose fat faster than you might expect.<br />

This makes sense because you&#8217;re expending more energy so you&#8217;re burning calories at a faster rate.  What you might not realize though, is that the muscles you build when you exercise take more energy for your body to maintain than fatty tissue does.  Building up muscle keeps your metabolism high on a regular basis.  This means that the more muscles you have, the more calories you&#8217;re burning when you&#8217;re not doing anything at all.</p>
<p>This also means that if you&#8217;re serious about maximizing your ability to burn belly fat and get in shape, you should do some strength training workouts as well as cardiovascular ones.  When most people start working out, they go for the cardio first.  This might be because it&#8217;s simple – you just do the same thing for half an hour and you&#8217;re done.  It could be because the machines at the gym are intimidating and confusing, or because you might not want to wind up with big, bulky muscles.</p>
<p><strong>You Don’t Have to Worry</strong></p>
<p>Throwing two or three strength training workouts into your weekly workout schedule isn&#8217;t going to turn you into the incredible Hulk.  What it will do though, is to help increase your body&#8217;s overall concentration of lean muscle mass.  By building up these muscles, you&#8217;ll be giving your body more work to do.  This makes it possible for you to use more of the calories you take in rather than storing them as fat.</p>
<p>The right diet is always important, but you can&#8217;t achieve real and lasting weight loss without making regular exercise a part of your routine.  It&#8217;ll make you feel better too.  There&#8217;s really no reason not to make exercise a priority.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>It used to be that I would look into the mirror and wonder what the best exercises to lose belly fat were. I mean there had to be a short cut, right? We&#8217;ve seen the TV commercials showing those awesome result from just a few minutes of work on the latest ab device. My shortcut mentality told me there was an easy way out there, all I had to do was find it.</p>
<p>After a l<a href="http://bellyfatsite.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/02/iStock_000000774494XSmall.jpg"><img class="size-medium wp-image-195 alignleft" title="iStock_000000774494XSmall" src="http://bellyfatsite.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/02/iStock_000000774494XSmall-201x300.jpg" alt="burning belly fat by rock climbing" width="161" height="240" /></a>ot of wasted time and effort it occurred to me that maybe I should be looking for real workouts that would get results. Thing was the whole reason I was looking for a shortcut to begin with was that i hated boring repetition. I just wanted to skip past all that. Then I stumbled onto this article that suggested doing a wide variety of work outs not just a boring list of the same old exercises day in and day out. Some of the workouts were really off the wall. I knew about these different activities but I had never thought of using them as workouts. The infomercial crowd just doesn&#8217;t want us thinking that way.</p>
<p>These physical activity exercises are mentally engaging and fun. They really got me to look forward to my next workout. I came to think of them as a kind of mini adventure. Talk about spicing up your day!</p>
<p>Alright, I that you are just about to bust with curiosity about what they are, so&#8230;here they are</p>
<ul>
<li><strong>Mountain Biking</strong> &#8211; First comes the leg burning drive to the top of the hill, then the adrenaline rush of flying down the back side dodging obsticle along the way&#8230;Wow!</li>
<li><strong>Rock Climbing</strong> &#8211; Your climbing up a sheer wall struggling for hand holds, trying desperatly not to fall and then when you reach the top&#8230;a word to your belay-men and&#8230;you jump off and repel to the ground! Awesome!</li>
<li><strong>Strongman Training</strong> &#8211; Ever watch the competitions on ESPN? Kind of do the same thing but use what ya got ly&#8217;n around. Tire flips (think deadlift followed by a push press) can be fun or weighted sled drags. Just use your imagination and don&#8217;t worry about what the neighbors think</li>
</ul>
<p>Maybe these particular exercises are not your cup of tea, but I hope you get the idea? Just find physical activities you enjoy doing and do them. Find ways to make them challenging and then kick them up a level.</p>
