A lot of people are curious about what should you eat to lose belly fat naturally. There is a lot of confusion about diet and nutrition, specifically in how it relates to fat loss. Fad diets abound. It seems as though a new one comes out every week. Personally, I like a simple and natural approach to diet and nutrition. I believe that balance is the key to success, but that the balance should be made with foods that are as natural as you can find.
Processed Foods – Bad Health Choice?
In my opinion, the processing of foods is one of the main culprits for today’s weight problems. Nature made wheat the way it is naturally. It is good for us to eat because of the way it naturally grows. Grinding the kernels is essential in order to get the most benefit from the grain. Bleaching, and enriching is not necessary and in fact takes away and alters many of the most nutritious qualities of the grain. I think that leaving our food in as much of it’s natural state as possible is nutritionally better.
That being said, how can this help with losing belly fat?
Well, eating quality natural protein daily will help in that protein is a more complex molecule and requires more calories to digest. Taking longer to digest, it also stays in your system longer satisfying your hunger for longer periods. It is an essential building block for building and maintaining muscle. I’d like to point out that muscle is a big factor in maintaining your metabolism. More muscle, higher metabolism.

Fat, Friend or Foe?
Start thinking of fat as a friend. Don’t try to totally eliminate fat. Ever hear the saying “everything in moderation”? Strive to include healthy fat in your daily diet. Good sources of healthy fat can be found in nuts or seeds, nut butters, avocados, eggs, coconuts, free range meats, olive oil and more other sources than I can list here.
When you eat carbohydrates make sure they contain lots of fiber. Carbs and fiber obtained from vegetables, fruits and whole grains can help to fill you up and take longer to digest. As a rule of thumb, look for carb sources that have 2 to 3 grams of fiber for 10 grams of carbs. Processed and refined grains and sugars are one of the chief reasons why so many people with belly fat loss.
In my opinion, just making these simple adjustments to your meals will bring your body back into balance and give you control over how lean you want to be.
